Rachel Erdos (IL)
Choreographer Out of Hauz Experiences vol. 3
Rachel Erdos (IL) took first prize at AICC 2008 (Aarhus International Choreography Competition) with the piece Alma. Alma premiered in Tel Aviv in 2007 and has since been performed in many places in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, as well as at The Place in London and in Slovakiet. The AICC jury said about Erdos: Rachel Erdos shows a rare clarity of concept from description to finish.
Erdos was trained as a dancer at Roehampton Institute, London 1997-2000 and as a dancer and choreographer at the Laban Centre London 2000-2001. In 2002, she was in invited to participate in the dance and technology seminar "Live-I" hosted by the New York based Troika Ranch Company, an intense seminar with articipants from all over the world.
Erdos choreographs commisioned works for youth companies and high schools. She is rehearsel director and stage manager for choreographer Sally Anne Friedland, for the Israeli Fresco Dance Group, and for choreographer Yoram Karmi. Erdos teaches choreography, composition and repertoire in Israeli high schools.
